Regularly associated with a lack of privacy and other negatives, we like to see the real positive side to social media – an incredible vessel for self promotion and maximising your image as a potential employee.

Whether it is because as humans we are curious, or nosey, or have a genuine desire to see the real side of a candidate – 82% of employers admit to looking at social media when assessing future employees. While many see this as a negative and lock down all their profiles to deter the prying eyes of HR, we see it as another tool to help you stand out from the crowd.

This workshop gets students analysing their social media profiles from an employer’s point of view before addressing the various ways to use social media to your advantage: finding a job, demonstrating your personal brand, reinforcing your CV or cover letter, and much more.
